Instead of cubic zirconia (no offense, a girl who likes "shiny, will NOT be into that), try lab created/lab pressed diamonds. They press coal until it's a dimaond. It's not nearly as expensive as a natural diamond and has almost the same fire as a diamond, maybe even a little better color than most mid-level dimaonds. The only downside as opposed to real diamonds is there may be more inclusions (little black or yellows spots you see under a monocle, very rarely by the naked eye) in them.
