The more you criticize Obama, the more his followers defend him. The stronger they feel about him. Why?

Several polls show that Obama is leading heavily amongst the people who are following the campaign, as opposed to many Clinton supporters that surely go on name-recognition or Republicans, who would vote for a monkey if he had the Red on on and blinded them and spoke about "conservative values" (oh wait, that already happened)
